Ransomes Sports will be bidding to make it seven straight wins in all competitions this season when they travel to face Westerfield United this weekend (22nd Oct) in the SIL Senior Division KO 2.30 pm.
Ransomes are currently in 4th spot with 15 points from their opening five league matches while Westerfield occupy 10th place on six points.
Flexibility and versatility are two of the important traits that have been a part of Ransomes opening success along with the right personnel to fit into the footballing philosophy at the club. The players fully buy into where the club wants to be and with that commitment, hopefully the rewards will come.
Ransomes are in a fine run of form, but the absence of key players this week and last, could throw that momentum off as they attempt to challenge for the Senior Division title - they will need to win again on Saturday to make sure they remain close to the top three and not get left behind.
Westerfield have been in good form themselves so far this season and they have done particularly well at home as they remain undefeated there so far (in the league) - one win and two draws. Their only competitive match defeat at home was against Thurlow Nunn side Framlingham Town in the Suffolk Senior Cup. Their mission therefore, will undoubtedly be to maintain that league form at home and they will be hoping tp get at least a point against the visitors. Ransomes fans will not need reminding that was exactly what Westerfield achieved in last seasons corresponding fixture - no doubt another motivating factor for the Swans.
Ransomes however will be planning to leave with all three points, so someones record will definitely go on the day, thus making this an intriguing fixture for both teams.
