Moved to Sidegate Avenue, Ransomes Sports hit Bramford Utd for eleven in their Morrison Freight Cup tie opener as they eased towards an emphatic victory after grabbing hold of this tie from the off and squeezing ever tightly as the game progressed.
Ransomes started the destruction after 4 minutes. An opening goal had been coming even before then when Scriven denied both Drew Connick and Kieran Turner in the same attack. An exhausting afternoon for the keeper continued when Ricardo Phillips bent home a free kick from the edge of the penalty box following a foul on Ross Driver.
A second arrived on 12 minutes when Ross Driver rounded the keeper only to be brought down, and Drew Connick confidently dispatched the resultant spot kick.
Josh Carracio dragged his shot wide from six yards but following a Ricardo Phillips corner on 17 minutes the midfielder made amends with a powerful near post header to register his first goal for the club.
Ransomes then had a goal disallowed on 27 minutes before losing Alfie Matthews and goalkeeper Callum Deacon both to injury.
Just before half time Ransomes added a fourth when Kieran Turner delivered a wonderful cross from the left which Drew Connick headed against the far post with Ricardo Phillips scoring from close range as the rebound fell kindly to him.
Following the interval, Dan Alderson's mistake in goal was reflective of some poor, shapeless defending by Ransomes (but it did provide the required wake up call). A speculative effort from Bennett-Grant was helped in by the stand-in keeper but it was to be nothing more than a souvenir for the Division Two outfit even if it was only the footballing equivalent of a party bag.
At that point, Bramford had no idea how much they would suffer further. That was enough really. Had they called the game off then everyone would have been happy but due to competition regulations, both teams were contractually bound to play out the second half, a half that unfolded at roughly the same pace but with Ransomes a lot more clinical as they added a further seven unanswered goals.
They were able to exhibit their full attacking prowess in the final 25 minutes. Connor Morley swivelled on a partial clearnce to fire home and then Adam Todd let fly with an unstoppable 25-yard angled drive that beat Scriven for pace.
Connor Morley then grabbed his second goal of the match after the keeper failed to gather Danny Allen's snap shot, quickly followed by another from Drew Connick as he swooped in on a stunning Franco Mallardo pass. The keeper then dropped a Franco Mallardo corner and Josh Carracio was on hand to slam home the loose ball in to the roof of the net.
Ransomes were creating chances at will and it was double figures on 85 minutes when Franco Mallardo's inswinging corner went in off a defender at the near post - a deserved goal for his second half contribution.
Ransomes ended the exhibition following Connor Morley's drive into the box, and Danny Allen's delicate deft one touch lay off saw Ross Driver fire the ball across the keeper, in at the far post.
Ransomes got the rewards for the endeavours with seven different goalscorers whilst Bramford Utd were allowed their moment in a game where, despite being perfect fodder, they delivered an honest performance for their club for the whole 90 minutes.
