Navan Blitz

Three tough games in Navan this morning brought out some of the best rugby these guys have played. They were up against teams who had much larger players but not once did their heads drop. Some (if not all) of the players found a whole new level of ability. A new standard has be set, a new height has been scaled, maybe even a Rubicon crossed! (--that's the improvement :-)

Did we win them all? No, not even close at times but there was a new aggression level that creates great hope for the future. If I had a statistician to keep track of the tackles he'd probably have run out of paper.

(okay we needed a few more (--that's the bad :-)

And Yes we had a few 'walking wounded' (heroes!) but we know they'll be back on the pitch as soon as they are able.

There is nothing these guys won't be able to achieve if they continue to play with the will that they showed today, the tackling and rucking was much improved with only a couple of 'ruck inspections' and a couple of 'late arrivals'.

Cut these things out and there are only glory days ahead. If we can improve as much more in the next few games we should be in a great place going into next season when we move to 15 a side and playing on a full pitch.

All the players should give themselves a pat on the back and remember that all of you have certain skills that others don't have. All of you contribute to the team as a whole and the team is the better for it.

(With regard to next season we will need more players so if anyone has friends who are interested please encourage them to join)
