Arde Vs Ratoath

Sunny morning in Ardee.
We enjoyed a very warm welcome from our hosts in every sense of the word. Some tough but excellent rugby was played by both sides. Although short of forwards (props - which led to uncontested scrums) Ratoath started very energetically leading to a first 15 mins score of 4 tries to one from our hosts.
There was impressive play all around with ball striping, some good rucking, players making a roll with the ball and gaining those precious extra yards in tackles and some very good presentation at tackle time. We were also excited to see that some some of the players really have got into tackling low with several ankle traps being very effective in stopping some large Ardee players.

Unfortunately that kind of intensity is difficult to sustain and Ardee were soon coming back into the game. In the second 15 mins it was one try each. We faded a little in the 3rd 15 min period with Ardee getting 2 tries to nil.

So a lot to be proud of - great team work by all but really need to up our fitness levels so we can perform from start to finish.
