The first quarter started fast and Rawcliffe started as they meant to go on with some perfect shooting and well timed feeds into the circle despite the pressure of the tall Aviva defence. The first quarter ended 15-5 to Ravens.
Aviva came out fighting in the second quarter and did a brilliant job of converting all the chances they had. Faye and Charlotte were a force to be reckoned with though and picked up any missed shots and tips which were immediately brought down court by Alice and Katie who were just brilliant in the centre court. Ravens went into the half time break leading 28-19.
Charlotte had the opportunity to play GD and absolutely shone the entire game with some brilliant defence skills and intercepts. Backed up in the circle by Faye (with her many faces - luckily no panic face in this game) they worked effortlessly to disrupt the feeds and shots.
Ravens kept going and didn't let up until the final whistle to take a well deserved win. Brilliant shooting throughout the game from Becky and Katie saw Ravens win 58-35.
Well done to everyone and a big thanks to everyone that came to watch - the Chambers Crew, former Raven Chloe Hopper and Faye Whiteley for subbing and scoring and generally making us laugh and forget how cold it was!
Player of the Match was a well deserved Charlotte Chambers!
