The Lane ran out 4-0 winners this weekend against Risborough. The rain meant for a slick and pacey game on the 3G with the boys using the conditions to their advantage to pass the ball about with pace and purpose.
Ronnie Blagden opened the scoring from the spot after Pierre Etienne was fouled in the box. Not long after Rob Hastings was on the end of Tom Pegrums through ball to slide the ball past the keeper with his left foot.
The second half continued the same, Lane showing great aggression and desire to stay on top in the game, a delightful phase of play ended with Blagden zipping the ball back from the byline for Elliot Harris to fire home from 10 yards out.
And the scoring was completed by Rob Hastings once again in the final moments, linking up with his brother Davantay, Rob showed great composure and skill to connect first time and chip the ball smarly over the on-rushing goalkeeper.
Perhaps the teams best performance of the season so far, the boys will be looking to maintain the attitude and energy this Tuesday at home to Wodson Park, 7:45pm kick off.
