Dear 200 Club Member,
Welcome to the Newsletter. Thanks to all the members who came to the 200 Club Buffet Lunch last Saturday. It was good to meet up with some friends who we haven’t seen for a while. The buffet was very good and thanks to Gina and her team for the good food.
Unfortunately the 1st XV couldn’t quite close out the match against Wallingford ( apparently formerly Cholsey ) and went down 24 – 20. They are very close to winning lots of their games but seem unable, at present, to turn the close games into wins. I’m sure that they will soon.
We held the January draw over until the lunch day and it saw the first draw with the increased prizes, now £200, £100 and £50 monthly.
The winners were :
£200 – Number 87 – Mike Lamb.
£100 – Number 141 – Steven Kng
£50 – Number 137 -Terry Davies.
If Steven King would like to e-mail me his address, I will forward his cheque to him.
We have recently paid for some coaching courses for members of the Rugby Club and have received, from the Executive Committee, a new list of areas that they would like us to fund. These will be discussed at the next 200 Club Committee meeting on March 8th.
You will be pleased to know that Yasmin Miller has audited the 2017 accounts and found them to be correct.
The next 1st XV match is away at Abbey on March 3rd. I’m sure that they would appreciate your support for this local derby game.
Not much else to report back this month. Enjoy the Six Nations matches and the RRFC matches.
Best wishes and thanks to all the new members who have joined the 200 Club, the Rugby Club is appreciative of our funding and thanks to all the members who now support the 200 Club.
Best wishes,
Graham
