First team manager Tom Richardson expresses his views since taking over and looks to the future.....

Since taking over, we have had a big transition in players and I am really pleased with the current makeup of the squad. The lads seem to have gelled really quickly and that has been evident in the last 3 games, having scored 13 goals and conceding only 2.

All of the lads that have come in have been fantastic, but i knew that that would be the case. We have had a change of structure and mentality throughout the club recently, which has seen finances withdrawn and means that the players that are at the club are now here only for the right reasons.

The players that deserve a special mention for me are those that have remained at the club, but had never played for me before. I asked them to give me a chance and ever since Tris and I took over, they have been terrific. Goalkeeper James Elliott has been in great form, making vital saves when needed and he is a great character in the changing room. Alex Bowles has also been brilliant, a player that wears his heart on his sleeve and will do anything to ensure the team gets 3 points, as proved the other day against Unity, where he made 2 class tackles to ensure we went into halftime all square and we in a position to go on to win the match in the second half. Mario Lopez has looked a different player since playing at right back and has put in a number of strong performances. Further up-field, Craig Binch has been scoring goals and looks full of confidence, while Jourdan Blair's recent goal scoring exploits speaks for itself, having scored in 7 consecutive games. I must of course give a mention to my assistant Tris, who is getting better and better with fitness and is really looking like he is enjoying his football again, controlling games.

Everyone from the chairman, directors, management and players shares an ambition to get the club as high as possible and we are looking to improve in all areas both on and off the pitch.

My job is to ensure the squad finish as high as possible and i take it one game at a time. I will be looking to continue building the squad, if i can find quality players that will compliment the current crop of players and buy into what we want to achieve as a collective. This weekend we go to current NSL Prem Champions, so will be looking to continue our recent good form and get another result as we look to continue to climb the table.
