Rebels are looking ready for finals footy!

On Saturday 12 August 2023 the Toronto Rebels made a statement of intent through a comprehensive win against the Hamilton Wildcats in a rematch of the 2022 OAFL Grand Final that was decided by a single goal.

Coach Andrew "Browny" Brown's Rebels were energized for a solid hitout with Hamilton after an earlier loss in the 2023 season.

Clean delivery into the Rebels forward line to strong leading forward targets Rob "The Kid" Tersigni, James "Mawbs" Mawby and Browny resulted in a positive 3 goal margin at the end of the 1st Quarter. Silky delivery by Neon "the postman" Leon facilitated many of these pinpoint forward-50 entries.

The Wildcats fought back in the 2nd Quarter with 3 swift goals, but the Rebels forward line was simply too strong, with the first half ending 3-03-21 vs Rebels 8-03-51.

A bit of argy-bargy ensued in the 3rd and 4th Quarters and the Rebels took advantage of the distraction to add 10 goals to close out the game. Alex Colborne and Morcs were their usual dominant selves in the midfield. While the impenetrable Rebels half-back line comprising of Warren "Yes Woz" Drysdale, Mahy Melican and Rhonan Bland kept the Wildcats goalless in the second half - no mean feat given some of the Wildcats forwards.

Best on Ground for the Rebels: Warren "2sec lager Woz" Drysdale!

The Rebels are gaining momentum each week for finals footy!
