It was perfect day for footy as the Rebs took on an undermanned Hamilton Wildcats this week in a 16 a side game. The boys were looking to finish of a good second half of the season and hopefully secure that last spot in the finals with a good win.

The first quarter started off as though the Rebels were still in sleep mode with the Cats getting the first goal within the opening minute. After 5 minutes of the quarter the boys were back on top with some good plays out of the middle and hitting up the always dangerous Kid.

The second quarter started off just as the first had finished. Rebels were on top and whenever the ball made its way into the back line the ever reliable defense was first at the ball and rebounding it straight back up the ground. The forwards were putting on fantastic leads and also creating space for each other beautifully which showed on the scoreboard.

With the boys happy with their first half effort and another inspiration rev up from Scuba they were ready to put the game away and finish strong. The Cats put up a fight but with Bryan thriving in his new role in defense alongside Philthy the ball was leaving the back line as quick as it was going in. The midfield were still going hard at the ball being lead by first year player Tommy who is improving with every game he plays. Forwards were dominant with the straight kicking Fabbri and the elusive leading of Kid and Bridgey playing a huge part in the game.

Going into the last quarter the Rebels wanted to keep the foot down and finish off strong and that's what happened. With a few minor changes to the team setup the boys played exactly the same as the first 3 quarters and came away with a good team win.

With a team goal set to play finals footy the boys needed a few results to go their way...which they did and now it's FINALS TIME for the Rebels.
