The Rebels entered Rd 4 looking to get back on the winners list against a Guelph team hungry for their first win of the 2009 season.
The game started well with Kieran Hess and Jon Bell doing well in the middle, this early momentum produced 2 early goals. This seemed to wake the Grgoyles and they wrestled back 4 goals of their own and took a 2 goal lead into the first break.
In the second the Rebels needed to push back but it was Guelph applying all the forward pressure. Denis Pavlovic was playing well in his second game and an unfortuante incident saw Tyler Skillen sent from the field for the remainder of the match enabling Guelph to extend their lead.
The Rebels showed great heart in the last half battling hard with a man down. Tony Tam and Peter Bormann continued their good season form but in the end the Gargoyles had too many winners on the day. With continued good attendance at training and games that next W is not too far away.
