2s, 3s and 4s all win (14/8)

1st XI
The first team suffered their first defeat of the season to bottom of the table Knebworth this weekend. Redbourn batted first and started well, with skipper Ed Hales and Dan Roe assailing a strong start, despite the early loss of Will Hales. However, with a middle order collapse came an uphill battle for the ones and, despite Dan Darvell and Toby Patrick’s efforts with the bat, Redbourn scored an under par 230.
Knebworth chased down the total in the final over, with a rapid 46 from their number 7 to see them over the line.

2nd XI

4th XI
A dominant display from the 4th XI to leave three wins out of four for the club this weekend. Redbourn batted first, and opener Antony Mauder batted well for a solid 60 before having to retire due to a hamstring injury. Tom Johnson also batted well for his 44, and Redbourn finished on a strong total of 190 from their 40 overs.
Redbourn’s bowling was too strong for their opposition and within the 36th over they were all out for 100.

Last weekend's result leaves the 1st XI top of division 2A by 19 points. On Saturday on the Common they host Chorleywood in a match sponsored by Choice Cricket Centre. Having defeated second place Baldock last weekend, the 2nd XI are now 30 points clear of them at the top of div 5B and they play away at Welwyn Garden City on Saturday. For sixth placed RCC 3rd XI a victory away at fourth place Totteridge Millhillians on Saturday would see them close the gap. The 4th XI are also top of the table in Regional Div B West and they host a resurgent Chipperfield Clarendon in a must win game at the Rec. Fingers crossed with the weather and don't forget it's karaoke night at the club after the cricket - all are welcome!
