U15s v Northchurch

Our U15s played another home game on Thursday 20th August against a strong Northchurch side on the Common at Redbourn.

Having won the toss Northchurch put our side into bat and took some early wickets with a strong opening bowling pair. Unfortunately for our U15s the Northchurch bowling was very good throughout the side and our wickets continued to fall. We managed to get to the last over when our last wicket fell with our U15s ending on 77 runs.

Undeterred by having to defend a low total, our opening bowlers of Luke and Josh Burnard put early pressure onto the Northchurch batsmen and along with some very tight and great fielding by all the side of Henry, Rory, Thomas Taylor, Euan, Will Bratton, Aryan, Aidan, Fred and Vihaan we not only took early wickets but we kept Northchurch to a very low total as we approached the last two overs. The team continued to bowl and field really well and were unlucky not to win the game with some great stumping attempts in the final few balls but Northchurch prevailed to win the game.

As we near the end of the season we would like to thank all the lads from our u14 and U15 teams for all their support and positive attitude during a very difficult period. Our thanks to all our parents too for your support and patience as we had to readjust to playing cricket during COVID-19.
