Redbridge FC Capital League side won their opening league match last night at the Oakside beaing Colney Heath 3-2.
Redbridge started well and awarded a free kick early. From 25 yards Alf Dickinson fired just over.
On 10 Matty Gillingham went down the left wing crossed for Sonny Adams who shot through a crowded penalty area into the net. Colney Heath did come at Redbridge, but without any clear goal scoring opportunities.
On 20 minutes Redbridge were 2 in front when Kevin McLeod struck left footed into the net. On the hour Colney Heath pulled a goal back when Jason Williams scored.
The home side again opened a 2 goal lead when on 71 minutes Gillingham again flew down the wing and crossed for Wayne Grant to smash the ball home. McLeod saw another shot 2 minutes later just past the post.
Colney Heath did not give up and were rewarded on 81 when Jason Williams shot low into the net.
Redbridge held on to the win in a game that first team squad players a good opportunity to show the managers who were in attendance.
The capital league side are back in action next Wednesday when they travel to Cheshunt in the Presidents Cup 1st Round with a 7.45pm kick off time.
