Redditch United have added three more players to the squad ahead of the 2018/2019 Evo-Stik South – Premier campaign – two of whom will be familiar to The Reds’ faithful.
Both Jordan Mills (left) and Louis Ezewele (top-right) played their part last season and have earned deals for the forthcoming season after impressing First-Team Manager, Paul Davis. Nathaniel Lewars (bottom-right) has also signed on.
Mills joins from Derby County after leaving The Rams at the end of the 2017/2018 season. A whole host of clubs were vying to secure the left-back’s signature, so Davis was thrilled to have secured the 18-year-old full-back’s services:
“As a football club, we have worked hard to bring Jordan to The TRICO Stadium. He needs to play senior football, and I have no doubt that he will play in the Football League, if he continues his progression.
“While normally a defender, he has the attributes to play anywhere down the left-hand side. With his talent, he will be a player that will benefit the squad greatly.”
Ezewele, meanwhile, joined Redditch United in January; however, injuries hampered the central defender’s progress and supporters only got a glimpse of his capabilities. Davis, though, believes his injuries are behind him: “Having spoken to Louis, I had no hesitation in asking Louis to stay with us.
“He is fresh and raring to go. Louis is a top defender and will be a huge asset to our squad.”
Lewars is a player that Davis knows well from managerial spells at Banbury United and Ardley United. The striker “has scored goals everywhere he’s been but needs a run of games to show what he is capable of”, according to The Reds’ boss.
All three players will join the quartet of new signings announced on Thursday and the rest of the squad for the first day of pre-season training on the 28th June.
As Davis continues his preparations ahead of the new season, supporters are urged to keep up-to-date with the latest at The TRICO Stadium by either checking the website or social media channels – Twitter: @RedditchUnited1 or Facebook: Redditch United FC – Official.
