Please can we request on behalf of our nice neighbours; that a message goes out to all age groups that whilst we have improved and smoothed the road surface, it is not a licence to increase speed.

We must continue to keep the speed down to an absolute minimum along Colley lane – there cannot be any reason to drive at any more than 3-4 mph.

Excerpt from email from Neighbourhood Association:
In conclusion, whilst I appreciate that club members should be able to negotiate Colley Lane without fearing that they will damage their vehicles so much of the technique revolved around simply reducing their speed.

As the work has now finished I guess we’ll just have to see how club traffic reacts to the better surface although I think we both know the answer to this one.

Could I ask you to ensure that rugby club members are formally asked to drive at a reasonable speed for the consideration of other road users , pedestrians ( especially those with children )and pets and horse riders.
