REMY fell to a 3-1 defeat at Litherland Sports Park yesterday evening, as visitors Chadderton went to the top of the table.
The away side started the game on the front foot, testing Patrick McLoughlin in the REMY goal early on.
The home side probed too however, with Nathan Corness pulling an early free kick just wide of the post.
It was Chadderton who broke the deadlock though, as Rob Worrall ran onto a great chipped ball over the top before blasting it past McLoughlin into the roof of the net to make it 1-0.
Another sucker punch followed as they quickly raced two goals ahead, this time it was striker Adam Dale racing onto a through ball. He rounded the goalie and slotted home to double the visitors advantage in just under 30 minutes.
The hosts would fight back however, as Morgan Falloh picked the ball up on the right, danced his way past three or four Chadderton players and stroked a shot into the far corner to halve the deficit just before the break.
It didn't take long for the visitors to once again show their quality in the second half, as ten minutes in Lew Byrne carried the ball forwards and took what seemed to be a heavy touch. He still managed to get his shot away and squeezed his effort into the bottom corner to put Chadderton back in control.
REMY themselves did have a few chances, with a ball flashed across the area that just evaded Corness and a long range effort from Eric Durnell which was well saved by the Chadderton keeper.
In the end though, the visitors defence held firm as the game finished 1-3 to see Chadderton leapfrog Bury and Ramsbottom United to go top for the time being.
REMY meanwhile slip down a place to 17th, and will visit Cheadle Town next time out, who sit just two places and two points above.
