Whitchurch Alport 1 Litherland REMYCA 2

REMYCA travelled to Whitchurch, who were unbeaten in eight games, looking to get back to winning ways.

In what was a competitive encounter, the play ebbed and flowed but as half time arrived it was honours even with no score.

On 48 minutes, Whitchurch set the tone by netting before REMYCA had started.

Manager James Olsen took a brave decision and went three at the back - introducing Colin Quirk and Paul Foy to add more attacking threat.

The game was transformed and REMYCA were now dominating the play.

On 69 minutes, the pressure paid off when Ashton Clements hit a tremendous volley with great power into the bottom corner.

At this point REMYCA smelt blood and continued to drive forward searching for a winner.

It came 8 minutes from time when a ball fired into the box was drilled home by Jack Riley.

There was still more to come as Warren Jevons burst into the box forcing a great save from the Whitchurch keeper.

Overall this was the best half of football REMYCA have produced all season and cements a mid table position crucial to consolidation in the Premier League.
