Silsden FC 0 Litherland REMYCA FC 2

REMY travelled to Yorkshire to face a difficult encounter with a strong Silsden outfit and came away with all three points in what was an excellent performance.
Due to free weeks and postponements REMY had not played competitively for three weeks. There were debuts for new signings Joel Powell and James Britt and despite the lay off the visitors went about taking the game to the opposition in determined fashion.
It was an evenly matched affair which was physical at times. The game was held up for a long period following a serious knee injury to REMY midfielder Mikey Ordish who was forced to retire from proceedings
The game reached half time goalless and evenly balanced with all to play for.
The second half commenced with REMYCA in the ascendancy looking to get the ball down and play good passing football.
With a good work rate and not allowing Silsden to settle REMY made the breakthrough on 73 minutes when captain for the day Colin Quirk scored with a close range shot.
Silsden looked to respond driving forward at every opportunity.
REMYCA introduced Colin McDonald with twelve minutes to play. His physical presence began to troublethe home teams back line. On eighty eight minutes he was brought down for a clear penalty duly converted by that man Quirk
All in all this was a disciplined, determined performance from REMY who move closer to the 40 point mark and premier league consolidation which was a season target.
