Played at Retford FC Junior Football Ground, Ordsall Road, Retford.

Weather: Clear and Cold.

1st Half
Retford FC Under 15’s, were at home for their 8th game of the season against Boultham Park Rangers who were currently lying in 3rd from bottom, FC are currently second from bottom of the table. Retford continued with 4-2-3-1 for the 2nd week running in hope of that illusive 1st win of the season.
Kickoff was delayed whilst the coaches and Referee sorted out an admin issue surrounding Retford FC’s newest signing Ollie Hudson eligibility to play, after discussions it was agreed that he could make his debut.
FC kicked off at 10.37, Fc had a free kick which was cleared in the 1st minute, then Retford took the lead in the 2nd minute, Kam travelled down the left with the ball passed to Fin who coolly finished over the goalkeeper 1-0! Boultham had a couple of shots, one saved by Josh and another high and wide. FC scored their second on the 8th min Brendan played an excellent through ball to Charlie Randall who dinked the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper 2-0. Fc got their third goal a minute later Mason played another brilliant ball into the path of Randall again, who finished superbly 3-0. This was just the start FC had needed and the visitors were shell-shocked. Our midfielders Charlie Green and Connor were really controlling the play and giving quick ball to the lads up front, along with the full backs Lewis and Fin getting forward when they could supporting play.
FC were dominating the play and scored again on 16 minutes Brendan slotted home from 5 yards for a well-deserved goal from his excellent play so far 4-0. Boultham responded immediately and scored a good goal from a shot from the right-hand side of the penalty box giving Josh no chance 4-1. 20 minute Mason sent over one of his guided missile throw in’s and Brendan scuffed his shot, FC were totally dominant now, and got their 5th goal on 25 minutes, FC won a corner on the left side Charlie Randall swung the ball over and Mason finished it off 5-1.
The excellent Charlie Randall shot over the bar shortly after keeping up the pressure on Boultham. 30th minute Brendan was replaced by Harvey to give him a rest from his tireless work. Fc had a couple of more chances, before Boultham scored their 2nd, poor defending allowing the striker to finish.

2nd Half
The second half kicked off and FC had the more chances including Kam hitting the base of the post, Mason had a couple of shots and a through ball for Kam and his shot was saved, Charlie Randall shot wide. On the 50th minute Connor who was suffering an injury was replaced by Ollie Hudson who nestled by the side of the dependable Sam Bull at the heart of the defence at center back. FC scored their 6th goal just after, Henry found Brendan in the penalty box and he finished for his second of the day.
Boultham then had a period of sustained pressure, forcing a great save from Josh and the resulting shot over the bar, and another shot wide. Charlie Randall had 3 good chances within 4 minutes one hit the post and two over the bar, he was really putting in a great shift.
In the latter stages Kam had to come off for Connor, Josh then made an exceptional save to keep out the opposition. We then had a crazy last 5 mins, Boultham scored 2 goals in 2 mins the second following a corner, and the first by breaking on the left and out numbering the defence, but FC scored 2 more goals through quick breaks Kam providing for Brendan and Mason to finish at the far post.

This was the win that the boys wanted, and they thoroughly deserved their victory. All the boys played superbly, now let’s keep this intensity up for the rest of the season.
