... Gaffer looks back at a short season.

Today we have had confirmation that our first season in the NCEL has been expunged. I’m gutted to be honest in terms of the football and that the club won’t be recognised for a fantastic season the first team has had at step 6 for the first time in the clubs short history. However the safety and well being of us all is the priority and the FA have made the decision rightly or wrongly.

The club as a whole, development teams, ladies team and the juniors have all had success one way or the other this season. Both myself, and I’m sure I speak for Kev as well, are so proud of and what the club has achieved this season in it’s entirety on and off the football pitches.

We have created a family club from the U7’s all the way to the first team squad and every committee member, player, supporter, parent and our amazing sponsors have contributed to what is an exciting and ever growing football club.

We will be going one step further next season off the pitch and the plans we have are going to be a massive improvement for the club.....so watch this space.

The link with Dinnington High School with the Retford FC scholarship scheme was a massive connection and a proud moment for the club. With a 16 year old player from the scheme signing first team forms this season proved the quality of coaching at the Dinnington School.

There are so many people to thank as the support we have had this season has been unbelievable. The attendances at the home games have been matching the crowds in the leagues above and we cannot thank you enough for the support home and away.

We move on to next season and hopefully continue to make you and the town proud of what we are trying to achieve for everyone who loves this game and strive to be the best we all can be.

Hopefully we all come through this unprecedented event fit and well.

Take care of yourselves and I hope to see all you Choughs next season.

All the best
Woody
