Rhos Aelwyd 1 - 1 Llangollen
The 1st half saw Llangollen as the better team. They were first to the ball and did not allow Rhos to settle into the match. Saying this, Rhos only allowed Llangollen to shots from 20 yards out which did not harm the Rhos goal. Rhos only got into the game with 35 minutes played. Josh Rush pressured the Llan goalie into a mistake by picking up a back pass. Unfortunately the resulting free kick didn't come to anything. Josh Rush did put the ball into the net minutes later but was correctly cancelled out for offside.
The second half was a different game. Rhos were the better side, carving out the better clear cut chances. Aled Robertson was so close to scoring after he beat the keeper to the ball from a cross and was heading towards the goal, only for a Llan defender to acrobatically clear the ball off the line.
Jake Simms was put through on goal and had the pace to pass the defender only for the referee to blow up for offside. The deadlock was broken by Adam Griffiths when Jack White played a quick free kick, after some good, neat and quick football, Adam Griffiths hit the ball on the turn ending up in the goal. 1-0
Llan equalised through a wicked deflection, when their striker hit the ball and it looped over Stephen in goal. the game became scrappy but both teams pressing for a win. it nearly came for Rhos, with seconds left, Carwyn Davies crossed the ball across the goal for Adam Griffiths, unfortunately he couldn't get enough contact onto the ball to direct it into the goal. FT 1-1
The players worked hard and it was a much better second half. We now go away to Brynford on Saturday to try and get a positive result to kick start our season.
