New Brighton 2 -1 Rhos Aelwyd

After the thumping Rhos had the previous week to was important that they put things right against New Brighton. It was the hosts who started the brighter of the two sides and could have gone 1-0 up after the striker had rounded Huw Rowlands in goal only for Aled Dodd to clear the ball off the line.
It wasn't long after when New Brighton scored. The strikers first attempt hitting the referee only for the ball to land at the strikers feet perfectly for his second attempt to put the ball into the corner. Rhos came into the game more and more and did create half chances and New Brighton were sitting deeper and deeper to protect the lead. It was close to half time when Rhos had a deserved equaliser when Ryan Jenkins volleyed the ball into the corner of the goal. HT 1-1
The second half was a scrappy affair with neither team taking complete control of the game and no chances to really talk about. It looked like it was going to be a draw as both teams were battling hard. It came late in the game when New Brighton scored directly from a corner. The takers corner went into the only place it could have gone to have scored with the keeper and defenders on the line unable to prevent the goal. FT 2-1
Rhos are definitely not having the rub of the green at the moment but the lads played better than the previous week and could take lots of positives from the game. I have no doubt that things will get better for Rhos and we will go on a run of unbeaten games.
