On a pleasant and sunny winters day, Rickmansworth took on St Alban's in the return fixture of the 19/20 season that they had narrowly lost 4-3 the previous October. Umpiring were two Rickmansworth legends Gavin Toms and Tim Martin. Also missing from the starting line up due to a minor injury was the ever vocal, Sam Couzins.
Ricky started the game well with plenty of possession and attacking intentions with some great wing play by young Toby Byng and maverick Matt Stray. Unfortunately one of St Alban's rare attacks brought them a goal half way through the half. However, Rickmansworth still stayed on the front foot and within 30 secs of the restart scored with a great strike from our star player from the south west, Jake Watling.
After an inspirational team talk at half time from roving Will Pendered, Rickmansworth had a 25 minute purple patch of play with a great strike from the ever improving Alex Poole. Some great defensive play for the last 10 mins saw Rickmansworth through to a good win including a great 1-1 stick interception outside the D by the Ricky GK legend Greg Moore. More of the same next week Rickmansworth.
