After a great draw with top of the league Hertford next week, we were confident going to Welwyn, who sat bottom of the table, but Welwyn came out all guns blazing, prepared to win.
During the first half we had majority of the possession, creating all the attacks and set plays but couldn't seem to find the backboard. Welwyn however had an attack and managed to sneak the ball past Chris making it 1-0. The first half seems long as we still couldn't find a goal, but a great run down the line from Jess and a cross to Tess, saw us make it 1-1 as she put it nicely past the keeper. Welwyn had another attack in them before half time, much to our disappointment, taking it to 2-1 at half time.
Going into the 2nd half we knew we could win and needed to. Yet again we started strong with all the possession, creating attacks down the left, right and middle but it still wasn't to be. Welwyn got through a few times but our defence kept them out. Even with a number of short corners, Welwyn fought hard to keep us out and it just wasn't our day.
Player went to Amy for her excellent play down the left, and donkey to myself for sliding all over the place. We move on as we had to Leighton Buzzard for our next game.
