Lovely to be back with the squad today. God had blessed us with sunshine and 18 players to choose from.
The first half was the proverbial walk in the park, Ross Basham with the early goal to settle us down. From then on he added another 3 and Farnborough offered F.A. Although this was a nice game to start back with, I do find them a bit futile. We relish a challenge and Farnborough didn’t present a hint of one.
Second half saw wholesale changes, with the addition of Kris Ruffell and Rhino up top. And change in formation to 3-5-2. As for the dynamic duo, the magic was there but sadly chances were rued.
It was left to Stu the noo, to waltz through their defence and dispatch him goal via the keepers packed lunch. The ever hungry Basher was itching to get back on so Top Cat made way for the goal machine. In what was a truly virtuoso performance he added another brace.
Hats off to my players, who can only beat what’s in front of them. Thanks for your understanding with regards to the squad rotation.
