In a game we usually kick arse. Sadly today we didn’t do ourselves justice. A difficult one to pinpoint where our deficiencies lied. If I was pushed I’d probably say the final ball was lacking.
In a tight first half with barely five left, Ross Basham our resident saviour on many occasions, put in by Hugo Loris, finished neatly low past the rotund keeper.
We went in at half time expecting to kick on and put them to bed. Our keeper had scarcely been troubled all game.
In fairness to Santos, they battled all over the pitch, never gave up and were duly rewarded for their diligence. A rare attack down the right was crossed in high and looping, cleared but sadly to their player who finished well. And that’s how it stayed, clearly Santos the happier side, Riverside despondent. The feeling was clear that we didn’t do ourselves justice, maybe just one of those days.
Well done to all involved
