Thanks to Sam for managing from the sidelines.

With no one to ref, yours truly obliged. I deputised Sam Pigott for the day to organise the rabble. A minutes applause for Beggsy dad who sadly passed away was respected by all.
The lads won the toss and elected to kick uphill ?‍♂️( no me neither), their tactics backfired somewhat. Riverside was running rife with chances squandered, mainly down to their god-like keeper. The guy was living a charmed life between the sticks, two or three “ fuck me how has that stayed out “ moments. After knocking on the door all half Ross Basham was duly rewarded with a gift any goal machine laps up. A lovely interchange of passes was finished with aplomb by Tim Leach, sadly ruled out by the Nazi ref/ Lino
The ever-reliable Top cat doubled our lead with a neat finish into the corner. The match was halted to respect and remember the heroes, a good reminder of why we’re not speaking German.
Sam made the necessary changes at halftime and we kicked on, their keeper kept up the mercurial form from the first half. The breakthrough happened when the Bashams appeared to support dad, a close save on the line was tapped home to the delight of Charlie hopping up and down for the old man. To give them their due Lads battled on and got their reward, a great strike from outside the box evaded our keeper. In a drop the mike moment, he called to be subbed, ?‍♂️. That’s how it stayed, great effort from everyone, special mention to Danny Herriett for some outstanding tackles, ( LB club ), Thanks to Sam for managing from the sidelines.
Good win against a decent side.
Happy Sunday fellas enjoy the win.
( Nothing wrong with the refs watch ?)
