Have you ever tried to catch a cannon ball?

Have you ever tried to catch a cannon ball? I don't mean somebody tossing you a cannon ball, I mean one actually shot out of a cannon. I'm guessing the answer is no, but if you ever want to give it a try, call up Adam over at Blackwater RFC and they will happily let you experience the "pleasure" of trying to stop their large, hard running pack.

The day started out cold, but heated up immediately with Blackwater starting where they left off in the Fall and went over first with some punishing runs from their Pack. The teams traded tries throughout the First Half, with Blackwater playing a brutal phase ball game and Roanoke trying to play an expansive speed game. At the Half Blackwater led 35-15. In the Second Half Roanoke's game plan finally starting paying dividends with runs on the outside by James Robinson and the Jason Gordon (yes, that Jason Gordon) and extended breaks up the middle by Blair Willard and Will "Prac" Atkinson. When Roanoke took the lead 36-35, it looked like the plan had finally worked, but Blackwater had one more cannon ball to fire as their Man of the Match, Joey (Prop), took a pop pass of the ruck and rampaged down the sideline for a 40(?) Meter Try. Roanoke rallied back scoring to take the lead by one and Man of the Match, Bobby Middaugh, went 4 for 4 on Conversion Kicks, which in the end were the difference makers in giving Roanoke the win.

After three wins in a row the fellas will take a well deserved break for Easter, before travelling to VMI on April 11th.
