Rochdale Cobras swept aside Bolton Mets in emphatic style to go top of the NWML Division 4 on points difference. They registered 90 (ninety) unanswered points at Firgrove on Saturday.
There was champagne rugby on display from start to end as the home side were allowed to play a brand of rugby that perhaps other teams would deny them of. Dave Ramsbottom and Ieuan Higgs pulled the strings for Cobras with Liam Hughes also having influence at full back.
There was also a strong performance from Rochdale rugby league stalwart, Ben Boothman, who played the full 80 minutes and in the process, laid a stunning offload on a plate for Higgs to go over for a try.
The team spirit and togetherness of Bolton Mets has to be commended. Most other teams would have imploded, having shipped so many points already, but they continued to play the game in the correct manner which will benefit them further into the season.
