The Club is working with England Hockey to provide a Bespoke Coaching Programme for our current and potential club coaches. Please read the attached information about our Club Coaching Programme. The first stage of this programme is an Engaging Games for Children workshop provided by EH in association with us, which is free to RHC Coaches and members.

Whilst this is an excellent workshop for those coaching young people it provides guidance on EH’s coaching philosophy.

WE ONLY HAVE 10 FREE PLACES AVAILABLE SO PLEASE BOOK EARLY BEFORE IT IS OPENED TO ALL.

If you have already attended this course in the last 2 years you do not need to attend another one.

Rotherham Hockey Club - Coach Development Programme

Rotherham HC has agreed to work with England Hockey to improve the club’s support to all our coaches whether experienced or new, including our young coaches. This will enable us to provide the best possible experience we can for our players and coaches at both junior and senior level in the club.

To this end, we will be running a “Bespoke Coaching Programme” under EH guidance, which supports clubs wishing to enhance their coaching offer to their members. The programme will take over a year to 18 months to deliver all we feel is needed.

The programme will offer courses based on “How Workshops”.
• “Engaging Games for Children”.
• “Coaching for Club Players”
• “Integrating Goalkeepers”

It is important that at least one of the above courses are attended before going on to attend a “What Workshop” below.
• “In Possession”
• “Out of possession”
• “Goalscoring”
• “Goalkeeping”
• And others.

England Hockey will also be providing support and on-site advice on our coaching activities and guidance on what we may need to do to keep improving.

This programme offers clubs the opportunity to have closed Workshops run by EH just for our members. These will be at a much-reduced rate, and we are also allowed to have them tailored to our requirements.

The first Workshop that we will be running is “Engaging Games for Children” on Wednesday 1st December, online, from 6pm to 9 pm.

It is FREE to club members who are involved in coaching and those who wish to be involved. Those who are not currently involved in coaching may be asked to pay £20 to the club before taking the course but this will be refunded on being involved in coaching.

Initially we are asking those currently involved in coaching in the club to attend the workshop free of charge. We have already been allocated 10 places on the workshop so please book early to avoid disappointment, but this can be extended if there is a significant interest.
