Message to All Youth Players, Parents, Guardians Coaches and Club Volunteers.
We are now reaching the end of what has been a most testing extended season.
End of Season Fun Day & Tournament
Our final Sunday morning youth coaching session will be on Sunday 18th July, and we will be running our end of season tournament that day. As with everything we have done this season we will still have some restrictions on what we are able to do but we will be running both an under 17 and under 12 tournaments. The session will be extended by an hour so will finish at 1.00 pm. The pitch will be divided into two mini pitches across the main one with a central gap for Hockey Heroes and Otters sessions.
The programme for the 18th July will be: -
9.30 am to 10.30 am Hockey Heroes session.
10.00 am Players who are 12 years old or older will arrive.
10.15 am Players under 12 years old will arrive.
Start of Under 17 Tournament.
10.30 am to 11.30 am Otter’s session.
10.30 am Start of Under 12 Tournament.
11.30 am to 12.30 pm Fun activities in teams. Such as “Beat the Keeper”, “0 & X’s”.
12.45 pm End of Under 17 Tournament.
1.00 pm End of Under 12 Tournament.
Teams will be allocated a “holding area” where their kit can be stored and where they meet between matches. Some of the holding areas will be outside the pitch to minimise congestion.
We are also being allowed to use the grass area outside the pitch for a picnic area and some fun games, but normal social distancing rules still apply. Tuck shop will be open.
Parents will be invited to join in and play but they must have completed the EH Participation Agreement Form.
Everyone attending this activity must be pre-registered so that we can monitor the numbers attending to ensure we do not exceed the maximum number allowed. Please complete the booking form here for ALL participants (children and adults).
Rotherham Hockey Club in partnership with Green Army are running a Summer Camp the first week in August for 4 days. Please visit our website to get more details. We already have 20 players registered on the camp each day but can accommodate more so please book on to ensure you get a place.
We start again next season on Sunday 5th September and by then we hope that we will be back to normal. Please keep looking on our website for further details or any changes.
On the weekend 11th and 12th September, it is “Hockey Fest”, which is an open weekend with lots of fun activities and games. More information to follow.
The Youth Committee wish you all a great summer break and look forward to seeing you all again in September.
