All member update

Regrettably after the government announcement on Saturday and subsequent clarification from EH that recreational sport including hockey cannot continue we are forced to suspend all Hockey activity from Thursday 5th November.

That date does mean we have two sessions this week that will go ahead:

  • Tuesday Active Hockey - to give everyone a longer run out in the last session we have doubled the pitch slot to two hours. The session will be 18:45-20:45 of game play.
  • Wednesday Back to Hockey - 19:00-20:00 as per previous weeks

It is not yet clear how this will affect the league season. With the likelihood that following this lockdown we will return to Tier 3 we will most likely be back to local games only in the first instance.

Until this is clear and we have chance to review we would ask that any member that has not yet paid their annual subs does so please as the deadline was 31st October. Similarly anyone that has a match fee debt should clear this as soon as possible. As you can imagine league registrations, insurance payments and pitch hire costs for Aug-Oct mean the clubs outgoing payments do continue. However, should the league season be cancelled or cut short we will agree a suitable reimbursement with members. Team Captains will contact players individually on what they owe this week.

Thank you for everyone that has supported our return to play so far this season and to all members for following the rules and making us an exemplary user of the University Sports Park. It's been an incredibly positive start to the season for the whole club with a new coaching team and structure introduced, some new faces and some returning faces, increased numbers at all coaching sessions and most fixtures fulfilled. So, we must pick up where we left off when we are able to do so.

Keep checking the website for further updates. Stay fit and stay safe.
