REPORT FROM MIKE CROWTHER

A change in venue to a foggy Halifax (in keeping with Halloween?) did nothing to deter the unbeaten girls on their second outing of the season. First up were (g)hosts Halifax, who despite a slightly shaky start by the Rotherham girls, were duly dispatched 2-0 after some good team work and two well deserved goals,

Next up were Northallerton who had won their first match of the day. However, confidence flowed from the unbeaten team from South Yorkshire and Lucy Cooke and Georgia D'arth were on fire in front of goal and they made huge contributions to the final 8-0 score line.

They were not alone! Rock solid once again in defence were Alice Clegg and Amanda Thickett - with all the girls playing their part in some excellent passing and running off the ball which allowed them to dominate the game from start to finish.

Oh - nearly forgot! Georgia was the 'keeper and once again didn't concede a goal. Kitted out all in red like your favourite Halloween devil. At least she touched the ball this week although her only action in the first two games was the critical block of a close shot from a Halifax breakaway when the score was 0-0!
The final match of the day was against Driffield and coach Kayleigh was persuaded to try a new team formation - the final match saw Georgia dispense with her 'keeper's kit and play outfield in Kayleigh's radical set-up!

Playing without a goalkeeper made things a little tricky, but the Rotherham parents were treated to another solid performance with no real scares despite the final 1-0 score line.

What a team! What a coach! Here come the girls..................
