The boys played very well and managed to come second in their group which means they will be promoted back to Division 1 in their next YYHL fixtures.

Aiden was on excellent form and scored in every game, with exception of the defeat to Airedale, which if they had taken their chances they could have won, although a draw would have been a fair result. The difference came by an unfortunate foot on the line resulting in a flick, which was nicely put away by the Airedale player. Alex also got on the score sheet with well-deserved goal, a cheeky ball through the legs of the Thirsk keeper found the back of the net.

The whole team battled well and worked well together, Archie had his first run out for the under 10's and fitted in well and Adam showed considerable improvement in only his third tournament. Alex was solid as ever in defense and very little got past him, Connor provided some well-timed tackles and good expansive runs down the lines.

Max gave a well-rounded performance in the middle supporting the attacking manoeuvres and tackling back when required, but the star performance came from Joshua in the net who made a number of saves in all the matches and failed to concede a single goal from open play, a brilliant performance given that it is only the second time he has put on the kit.

Overall it was an excellent team performance on the day, with moments of brilliant individual skill, and one they can all be proud of, based on this performance they deserve to be back in the top division.
