Rotherham 1 V Sheffield Hallam 3

Rotherham went into the local derby expecting it to be a tough game, but turned out to be a walk in the park for the men’s first as they faced Hallam 3’s.
Danny Berry opened the scoring early pouncing on a loose ball in the circle before tucking it away past a rushing keeper. This was soon followed by a goal from Fraser Andrews, as he walked around the keeper and slotted it home to give Rotherham a 2-0 lead and a bit of breathing space. Not long before half time Rotherham added a third with a goal from Cam Cottell, in a short corner master class finding a gap between goalie and postman. Rotherham led at the end of the first half 3-0, but knew it could go either way with a limited bench.
The home side started strongly with Danny Berry winning the ball high up the pitch from some good pressing from the Rotherham forward line, driving into the circle and once again finding the goal. Not long after this goal was backed up by Ricky Benton tapping home after the ball was worked round the goalkeeper, making it 5-0. Rotherham created several more chances but it was some time until the home team added to the scoreline again. This was provided by Aidan Ward to make it 6-0 with another well worked ball around the circle, leaving him to slot the ball home at close range. The game was eventually capped by a quick counter attack, a long overhead from the back found Ollie Burton at top D, who rounded his defender and fired the ball home. Overall Rotherham had clearly outshone outplayed the Hallam side as shown by the score line.
