The men’s first team travelled away to York, to play a mid table side who had picked up some strong results this season so far, for an early start that reminded the students there were actually two 10 o’clock’s in the day. The first half was a good battle, with Oliver Burgin opening the score with an impressive solo run and finish. York equalised but this was quickly countered by a goal from Ricky.
Towards the beginning of the second half, York buried an equaliser but any hope they had to take a point from the game was diminished as Rotherham got into gear and began to get our rhythm. Fraser Andrews put us ahead quickly followed by a sliding deflection by Harvey Wootton to make it 4-2. Fraser bagged two more to complete his hat-trick and Harvey finished the game off with yet another poachers finish making the final score 7-2 to Rotherham, another impressive performance to keep promotion hopes alive.
