Roundhegians Golf Society

The thriving Roundhegians Golf Society is open to members of all the Roundhegians sports clubs - both ladies and gentlemen - and it is free to join!

Our season starts in Spring when we have a better ball stableford competition for the aptly named Roundhegians Spring Tankards. It's a great day out and a chance to make new friends as you won't know who you are playing with until you arrive! The venue changes from year to year but you can be certain it will be a top quality course somewhere in Yorkshire. Recent venues include Ilkley, Forest Pines, Easingwold, York and Selby.

Around the same time entries are invited for the President's Cup, a better ball matchplay competition, which runs throughout the Summer (and sometimes beyond!). Just find a playing partner and put your name down. We have members at many of the golf clubs around Leeds so it provides another chance to play different courses.

During the Summer we also play one or two team matches. Given the traditional rivalry between the two clubs our annual match against the Old Leos is always hotly contested while our ad hoc matches against the Leeds Irish Golf Society are, shall we say, more social!

Our season ends in Autumn when we hold the equally imaginatively named Roundhegians Autumn Tankards competition. For the last ten years this has been held overseas, in France or Spain, as the highlight of the Roundhegians Golf Society Annual European Tour. This is typically a four day trip for up to 32 members, which also includes the Roundhegians European Open.

If you are a golfer and all this sounds like fun, come and join us. You will be most welcome!
