Commenting on the game Pete Batley said,

"A fantastic game on the beautiful east coast saw the Royal Engineers finally victorious against an excellent and spirited side skippered by RERL's own Adam Lee.

The Sappers managed to use 21 players and all gave a great account of themselves. The selection for Saturday's games against Aberdeen Warriors will be tough.

A massive thanks again to Adam and the Pirates for playing in what is now an excellent annual fixture and thanks especially to the locals for a great turn out and fantastic support throughout."
