Ruthin were given a golden opportunity to open the scoring in the 12th minute when Llyr Morris, who was moving away from goal, was pushed over by a Corwen defender, Morris got up took the spot kick himself sending keeper Dylan Jones the wrong way.
Corwen pressed for an equaliser and the there was some panic in the Ruthin box when a cross was deflected over the head of the excellent Ryan Goldston who was relieved to see that Adam Harvey-Davies was in the right place to clear it off the goal-line.
After 25 minutes, a poor ball by a Corwen player was collected by Llyr Morris, he held it up before playing it back to Will Owen, who found the net brilliantly from the edge of the box.

Ruthin almost added to their lead early in the second half when Will Owen ran on to the ball but he put his attempt just over the bar.
Llyr Morris looked to put the result beyond doubt as his side were awarded a free kick 25 yards from the Corwen goal, but he saw this effort fly wide of the post.
Corwen tried to get back into the match but Ruthin defence held firm with keeper Goldston gathering everything that was thrown into the goal area.
The second half passed without further incident and Ruthin’s players and large away celebrated as we picked up our second win of the season.
