Walden find it hard on the road at OP's

A much changed team travelled to Old Priorians from when Walden beat them at the beginning of December.
From that date only 5 of the starting line up were available, with many regulars injured or with other commitments it was no surprise that having not played regularly together they found it difficult especially in the first half.
OP's took full advantage and scored 6 tries and went into half time 38 nil up.
However to the great credit of all 18 players they did not let their heads drop and just decided to try and enjoy the game,despite the home team scoring 2 tries early in the second half.
Walden scored twice with first centre Jon Goodin who fought his way over the try line to dot the ball down after a series of sustained pressure by Walden mid way though the half.
Then a great break by flanker Matt Holden saw him scythe through the OP's defensive line and with one player to beat threw a perfect pass to 17yr old left winger Oscar Norman who out paced his opposite number to score his first try for the 1's.
Walden tried hard in the last 15 minutes to get 2 further tries for the Bonus point but it was to no avail and OP's capitalised on a couple of mistakes as Walden tried to run the ball our of defence and scored 2 more tries to put a further gloss on the score line.
However hard the score line looks it does not tell the whole story and all 18 that played can take pride in the heart they put in and thoroughly deserved the beers on the bus on the trip back to the Duke of York.
