Seven home games so the Striders will be playing at Tidworth this week and the Men’s 2s are at Embley Park.
Games at Skew Bridge on Saturday are as follows:
10.00 Women’s 3s vs Fareham 3
11.30 Women’s 2s vs Fareham 2
13.00 Women’s 1s vs Oxford Hawks 2
14.30 Strollers vs South Berkshire
16.00 Women’s 5s vs Poole 2
It was a 2-2 draw when the Ladies 1’s met Oxford Hawks earlier in the season. Since them both teams have had mixed results and sit 7th and 8th respectively.
The Men’s 1s head to the south coast to play a Portsmouth team currently sitting third and unbeaten in five. Salisbury will need to be wary of Portsmouth’s direct and well executed short corners.
Last week the Ladies 2’s lost a close game to Wimborne Wayfarers 2-1 but could take heart from a number of positives. This weekend they play Farnham who sit fourth, their nearest rivals Alton have a tricky game away to third placed Southampton, so this provides a real chance to move off the bottom of the table.
Two Fareham teams visit Skew Bridge this weekend the first of which plays the Ladies 3’s at 10am. In October Salisbury won the away trip 3-1 with a player of the match performance from Ottilie Knight.
The Ladies 4’s currently sit in eight position and travel to face fourth placed Eastleigh. Salisbury beat them 1-0 earlier in the season thanks to a well worked team goal converted by Victoria Earl.
The 4pm slot at home goes to the Ladies 5s with a visit from Poole. Last week was a tough game against Wimborne who are cantering towards the title. This game is more evenly matched and gives the 5’s a chance to consolidate their mid table position.
The Men’s 2s have a home game but at Embley Park against Swanage and Wareham. Swanage are going well and are pushing for promotion. Salisbury should take heart from last week’s first 25-minute performance where they outplayed Havant and went 3-0 up.
The Men’s 3s travel to Chichester looking to do the double having won 4-1 in October thanks to goals from Nick Tomalin, James Bundy, Josh Cowling and Harry Morris. Chichester sit at the bottom of the table so the double is a genuine possibility.
Bournemouth host the Men’s 4s, Bournemouth are always a difficult team and are having a good season so Salisbury will have to be fully focused if they want to repeat their win earlier in the season.
The Striders play at Tidworth against the Sonning Sundowners, Sonning have consistently led the league. While Sonning have beat the Striders twice this season they have been tight games as this one no doubt will also be.
The Strollers are at home against South Berkshire. Thanks to Carl Hendy and Mark Briggs the last game was a 2-2 draw Both teams stand on a 1-point average per game which determines league position in Wessex Supervets Alliance Division 2.
On Sunday its time for the U14’s the Girls first against Chichester and then the Boys take on Alton both matches are at Skew Bridge.
