The club main site is situated between the River Aire and the Leeds Liverpool Canal, just outside the World Heritage Site of Saltaire. The land is a sporting facility that is used by the local community for tennis, cricket, bowls and football.
The site has many visitors which includes sporting teams, people passing through on foot, dog walkers and cyclists.
We have experienced problems with litter, fly tipping and graffiti.
Following a successful application to Shipley Area Committee we have used the award for;
1) graffiti removal
2) property repairs due to vandalism
3) tree work and strimming to remove fly tipped waste and litter
The majority of the work has been carried out by club volunteers and senior players.
Sadly due to the location of the site and the inability to monitor or secure it from anti social behaviour, the problems will be on going.
We are grateful to Shipley Area Committee in providing the grant, to fund these improvements for the benefit of all the site visitors.
