Skipper Lawrence Edmonston won the toss and the Hurries kicked up hill for the first period, most of the game was spent around the half way line with both defences coming out on top.
The only scores of the first half came from the boot of WIGHTLINK man- of-the-match Neil Buckingham and a penalty from Totts. The home side looked dangerous on a couple of occasions with breaks from Tom Baker and Joe Wiltshire that were stopped just short of the line.
The second half was a different story and within five minutes of the start Edmonston caught Totts napping with a quick line out to Buckingham and as the ball went through the hands, BJ MEATS man-of-the-match Michael Barrett popped up to score in the corner, this was converted by Buckingham.
This was followed by a try after good work from young Chris Perfect, George Marrinelli and Richard Henry they released Daniel Hodgson who powered his way over from short range to score, again converted by Buckingham.
The final try was a reward for superb defence from the home side led by the experienced Al Morey and Ross Edmunds, Totts threw a speculative pass that was intercepted by wing Josh Wetherick and there was no catching the winger as he sprinted the length of the pitch to touch down under the posts. Buckingham converted again to make the score 24-8.
The last twenty minutes were played out in the Totts half and despite Michael Booth, Martin Keyworth and Adam Burton all going close the final whistle went on a good game and a good home win for the Hurries.
