After a stop start season, Sandowns seconds welcomed Gosport and Farehams 2nd team to the Fairway. On a tough afternoon Sandown were out played by a strong mainland side that look easily capably of providing a back up to their London and South East division one 1st team.

Sandown kicked against the elements in the first half and were pinned in their own half for quite a lot of this half, when they did threaten the dangerous centre partnership of Michael Cooper and Matt Jones were the main outlet for the home side.

The second half saw the home side rather more competitive and they went close on a number of occasions, they eventually got on the score board after number eight Greg Dean chipped in for his customary close range try. Strong runs from wing Joe Pettifer and James London almost produced scores but the away side stood firm.

The score could have been a lot higher were it not for the work and tackling of youngsters BIG JOHN man of the match Lewis Moreton and WIGHLINK man of the match Matt Miscleback who both performed admirably on the day, coupled with the hard work of experienced Danny Thomas and Steve Perfect Sandown did compete well with the visitors for the second period.

Final score a well-deserved 53-5 victory for Gosport and Fareham.
