After two successive draws the Hurries got back to winning ways in emphatic style defeating a hard working Southampton side at the Fairway on Saturday.
Sandown started slowly and were soon 3-0 down as Southampton took advantage of an early penalty chance, this only spurred the home side on and once they got in to their stride they hit back with tries from Greg Dean (3), John Missleback (2) and Josh Wetherick (2) this took the home side in to a comfortable half time lead.
The second half saw much of the same with superb attacking play leading to scores from Sam Ayres (2) and Tom Monks (3). BJ MEATS man-of-the-match Monks third try was the pick of the bunch as young wing and WIGHTLINK man-of-the-match Tom Borrer picked the ball up and fed hooker Adam Tyas, at full speed. Tyas chipped the ball round the covering defender for Monks to collect and sprint in under the posts.
