Sandown put in a superb home performance on Saturday as they scored fourteen tries against their mainland opponents at the Fairway. Trojans who haven’t had a game since mid December were beaten by a mobile young Hurricanes side.

Sandown raced into an early lead but they didn’t have it all their own way as Trojans powerfull forwards scored three tries without reply. But when the Hurries secured good ball and it was moved out to the backs they cut through the traveling side at will.

In the second half Trojans causes weren’t helped as they had two rather harsh yellow cards to deal with as well.

Tries on the day came from Josh Wetherick 4, Joe Pettifer , Zac Chiverton 2, Sam Flux, Joel Carey (2), David Graham 2, Luke Chandler and Arthur Buxton.

All in all a good home performance against a strong but rather out classed Trojans side. Especially pleasing for the home side were the performances of home debutants WIGHTLINK man-of-the-match Luke Moram, Joe Pettifer and BIG JOHN man-of-the-match Luke Gales who all performed well on the day.
