Match report

Sometimes football can be like a western film good, bad and ugly, so with that in mind, that's going to be a theme of the match report this week.

Let's start with the good.
Firstly congratulations to our big 15 Leon Gavin on the birth of his son Arlo Lachlan Nolan Gavin. Another rainbow baby in the Sands United Team.

On to the match in periods we played some good football and created a few half chances. We put in some fine defensive challenges as MOTM Hiliker will testify to.
Dempsey the club manager getting his boots on so he now understands how hard the boys work each week.
Harrison showing that the gym can be good for you, industrious running throughout.
And Rob Allen continued what is now probably the longest goal-scoring streak in the history of football, back to when the game was played using a pigs bladder, with a finely taken penalty.

Also a special thanks to Northampton Sapphires for covering the costs of the game and for the generous donation of £70.00 towards Sands Charity.

The bad, let's not dwell on this too much but the 8-1 scoreline says a lot, our heaviest defeat so far. Credit to Northampton Sapphires who used their fitness and pace to great effect throughout the game it was incredibly difficult to keep on top of them. Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and appreciate the work of the opposition.

The ugly well if you have seen half the team, Italian stallions we ain't, so the Sands United calendar might be a hard sell we will be relying on the love of our fans to make that one a success.

We go again next week, we will learn from the mistakes and continue to make strokes on the masterpiece they call football.
