Scone welcomed Bridge of Earn to the Glebe on Sunday afternoon for their fifth league of the season. Bridge of Earn started off on the front foot dominating possession in the opening 15 minutes. They were causing problems down their right hand side and they opened the scoring after 7 minutes. A cross from the right was finished well from the middle of the goal to give Bridge of Earn the lead.
Scone were given a wakeup call with goalkeeper Finlay Bayer making two good saves.

Scone’s first chance of the match came after 18 minutes with Alex Pollock having a shot from the left which was comfortably held by the keeper. Scone were to equalise a few minutes later, Scott Peebles played a great through pass to striker Euan Anderson who ran in behind and passed it into the net from 15 yards out to make it 1-1.

The game was fairly even up until half time with both teams having a few half chances but neither keeper worked.

HT 1-1

Scone started the second half with a real determination to take the game to their opponents. Within 2 minutes Scone took the lead for the first time in the match. Kieran Hodge put in a cross from the left wing and the ball fell to Ben Harris just inside the box to pick his spot and score his third goal in as many games. Scone were to double their lead a few minutes later, good play from Ross Connelly to find Kayden Alexander on the right who’s shot beat the keeper but came back off the post and Euan Anderson was on hand to knock in the rebound.

Bridge of Earn remained dangerous on the counter attack and got themselves back into the game with a goal 10 minutes later. A good pass through was finished well by their striker.

Scone were again to go two goals ahead with Ben Harris getting onto a loose ball in the box to fire it into the right hand corner. Bridge of Earn had a few chances in the last 10 minutes to get back into the game but the Scone defence held firm with goalkeeper Finlay Bayer making a fantastic save tipping a shot onto the bar.

Well played to our opponents Bridge of Earn who made it an exciting game of end to end attacking football.

Man of the match was close, Jack Gall played an excellent game at right back but Ben Harris in centre midfield was amazing. Done a great job marking their dangerous players all game as well as getting forward well and scoring two goals.
