Scone Thistle 2003s welcomed Letham Tangerines to Scone Park after a two week break for the October Holidays.
The home side, fresh from their week-long training camp in Fife started the game on top keeping the ball well and moving it with purpose.

Scone’s slick build up play created their first sight of goal in the 9th minute. Jack Gall found Euan Anderson on the right who cut inside and passed to Jay Gardner on the edge of the box to lay off Alex Pollock to score his first goal of the season and put his team 1-0 up.
Scone doubled their lead in the 18th minute with Jay Gardner threading a beautifully weighted pass through to striker Kayden Alexander who showed great composure to finish with a well-executed left foot strike.

Scone thought they scored a first with Kayden Alexander finishing well but the ref deemed it to be offside. The boys defended resolutely for the remainder of the half and went into half time with a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Scone weren’t content with their two goals and came out immediately after the break to score a third. Jay Gardner was on free kick duties and put in a brilliant cross for Correy Stewart to fire into the back of the net.

Letham were struggling to get the ball off of a confident looking Scone team who went 4-0 up a few minutes later. This time Jack Gall overlapped from right back to cross the ball low across the box for Left midfielder Kieran Hodge to hit the ball into the roof of the net from close range.

Letham managed to get a goal back after Scone lost some focus at the back and gifted possession of the ball easily and the Letham striker finished well.

Kayden Alexander got his 2nd goal of the game with 5 minutes remaining, Ben Mackay picked the ball up just inside his own half and played a fantastic through ball for Kayden Alexander to latch onto, round the goal keeper and finish.

Letham kept going and managed to score a second goal after good play down the right hand side with a well struck shot from 20 yards.

The last chance of the game fell to Scone on the counter attack. Euan Anderson found space on the right and played a great pass across for Kayden Alexander to curl the ball around the keeper and agonisingly see his shot strike the inside of the post and fall safely into the goalkeeper’s hands.
